Tollins: Explosive tales for children by Conn Iggulden

I couldn't make it through this one. Too patronizing, twee, and the writing was flat and stilted. It doesn't help that I dislike the commenting narrator style, as per Series of Unfortunate Events. The story was trying very hard to be quirky and just came over strained. Ick.

Ha. I picked this up--and put it back down--too! I think you've pinpointed the problem.

I have not read this book but it seems the author is really popular among children and teens for his novels based on history- the Genghis Khan series for example (Wolf of the Plains is one of them). It is quite a rage.
